Left behind on the beach

LEFT BEHIND ON THE BEACH

Left behind on the beach:

A single name

written neatly  on the sand

An enormous castle near the sea

patiently waiting to be consumed by the darkness of the waves.

Left behind on the beach:

Glistening water,

secret shell treasures,

Beautiful sunshine,

Chips laying alone,

left behind lunch.

Left behind on the beach:

A fishing trip,

Bringing delicious lunch,bait,

Fishing rods for Dad,

dark sunglasses for Mum.

Left behind on the beach:

Deep dark water,

A far off broken ship,

the swish of water,

and the clomp of turtles feet slowly walking into the water.

My computer recount

My  Computer

Buzz!   The computer made the weirdest noise I could ever think possible.  I couldn’t believe my eyes.  I felt like screaming, but I controlled myself.  I felt like kicking my computer onto the ground.  It had suddenly stopped working, as I was playing my action-packed games, right before an autosave point!  “Oh no!” I screamed.  My angered cries rang out through the house and alerted my mum, who was doing dishes.  She walked calmly towards me. “Don’t worry, we’ll call your uncle tomorrow.” She said in her softest, sweetest voice. Which partly calmed me down. “Okay.” I said in anger. I grunted and walked off to my room.

After my angry talk with my uncle about fixing my computer, I decided to pass the time by playing Xbox games. Once again, I grunted angrily as I noticed my game had a gigantic scratch through the middle. “Maybe I could play on my computer.” I said as I walked back into the living room. “Darn it.” I muttered to myself as I realized it was broken.

Six days later my uncle decided to visit. He returned with my, now faster, computer. I jumped for joy once I saw it. I was relieved I could finally use my computer again. It was awesome, I instantly ran to it, as fast as I could, and started quickly downloading all my awesome games back on it.  I couldn’t believe how exhilarating it was when I got my computer back.

My reflective learning journal

My Reflective Learning  Journal

This week I learnt about the lines of symmetry.

I was learning this so that I knew how to complete my Tapa art.

I know I have learnt this because I have completed my work about it and found it easy.

A question I now have is could someone use them all at once?

Next week I need to work on learning the names of all the shapes symmetry can be used on.

The best activity of the week was finishing my Tapa art
because I could use my imagination to create designs.

My time at the Museum

I was shaking just thinking about the museum and the house and the shaking of the volcano. Staring out the bus window I day dreamed of seeing the amazing dinosaurs. We instantly visited the the dinosaurs and birds. In my group there was Katarake, Roswel, Henry and Howick. The bones were amazing and the birds looked so alive. Weird and wonderful was my favourite room. They had these cute guinea pigs and fish in jars! In the volcano room I was amazed as I stared at the volcano. We walked into a room I was scared out of my mind! It shook, I nearly screamed. After we enjoyed lunch we visited some boring rooms like Wild child. The Marae was so detailed. After that we met up with room 7 and 6. Also with the rest of room 5. I sat down knowing I enjoyed my day.

Working with Miss G

Yesterday was the day we finally got our awesome Netbooks!!! It was very exciting opening the brand new box and turning the Netbook on.We also got taught how to set up the new laptops. We got to play our games on our brand new Netbooks they were Tux Typing, Tux Maths, Tux Paint, 3D Chess and Tetris. They also had web cams.  It was very fun.
